Sustainable Economy creates hope for the future

One of the highlights in international trade support of 2018 was the opening of the Curaçao desk in the Dominican Republic (DR). The DR has been identified as one of the interesting markets for Curaçao companies to do business with, in the Caribbean. With the help of the office, headed by Ms. Taiana Mora the companies can now count on professional assistance of a person with a solid track record in consultancy regarding international trade development.

The International Trade Division of Curaçao’s Ministry of Economic Development opened this desk last October as a support service for local companies when doing business in the DR. This desk is located at the NEX Consulting SRL in the capital of the DR, an international consulting firm specialized in development cooperation and international trade. Ms. Mora is the person in charge.

She has 30 years of experience in export development and export promotion of both goods and services. She has worked more than 22 years for public and private organizations throughout the Caribbean. Her areas of expertise include strategy development, policy advising, capacity building, export training and export plan development, especially for the services export.

Mora was the Executive Director of the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export), an intergovernmental organization of 15 Caribbean countries (CARIFORUM) for export and investment promotion and is currently the Managing Director of NEX Consulting, Taiana Mora is also the director of the DR Coalition of Services (CSRD) and Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Latic American Association of Service Exporters (ALES). She is the immediate past president of the Dutch Dominican Chamber of Commerce.

During her career, Taiana has assisted more than 500 companies and organizations with training, coaching, advise and international marketing. Through her consultancy she has promoted and facilitated the establishment of 5 organizations related to services export. She has extensive experience in markets in the Caribbean, US and Europe.

Ms. Mora has a postgraduate study in Marketing and a graduate study in Communications. She has been a presenter in multiple international fora and events in the Caribbean and Europe. She is the author of 4 books including two studies on the DR strategy for the Caribbean commission, published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DR.

Nex Consulting
NEX SRL is a women’s owned Caribbean consulting firm established in 2009.
